Another quickie because I’m watching Heroes!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Sorry, folks, but you’re getting another “Kylene is too busy to write a post and right in the middle of something else so she’s not going to spend the time right now, either.”  Sorry.

I had my eye doctor appointment today, though and it was fantastic.  I have found a competent doctor!  Who was able to look at my eyes and tell me why they’ve been watering and what’s going on with the scratchy feelings and all sorts of wonderful things–not the least of which was that my prescription that I’ve been wearing was step too strong.  Weird, huh?  But hurray for having contacts again!  And eyedrops to take care of the little hard spots on the back of my eyelids and eye wash to take care of the infection under there, too.  And I’ll get glasses at the beginning of January because although my insurance is fantastic, it’s not perfect.

We finished season 2 Heroes this morning and now we’re watching the beginning of season three.  Unfortunately, there wasn’t any sound for the first five minutes, so Justin’s finding the transcript so we can read what happened.  And then we’re going back to watch that before it gets really too late in the evening.

So, take care!  I’m going to go watch some more TV.

Aaaaand it’s 11:30 and I need to put up a post today.

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Know what?  In a few more days, I probably won’t be getting out of bed at this time of night to come in and write to all of you.  Instead, I’ll roll over, sigh, and fall asleep.  Like a normal person.

Well, okay, so not quite like a normal person.  Today, I carried my camera around all over so I could take pictures of our activities.  I have pictures of us out procuring an object now sitting downstairs and I have pictures of objects removed from my kitchen, scattered all around the living room floor, and then replaced back in the kitchen.

And while taking pictures of all these things isn’t too odd, what is odd is that the whole time I was taking pictures I was thinking, “I wonder if any of these will turn out well enough that I can put them up on my blog.”

I’ve become one of those girls.  And I’m not nearly as bothered as I probably should be.

Anyway.  I’ll talk about today once I have pictures to show ya’ll.  It’s fun.

Tomorrow I have an eye doctor appointment.  I’m very excited about this appointment because I want contacts so badly!!  And I want glasses that I can wear properly without my eyelashes leaving streaks on the lenses.  And because since I started on this new project at work, my eyes feel like they’ve changed and I want to know whats up with that.  Too much small type.  I wonder how old I’ll be when I get bifocals.

We’re down to the very last episode of season two Heroes.  So many things are happening in the show right now, I’m really not sure what’s going to happen in this next episode.  This show was one that never made it back last year after the writer’s strike.  So it’s very possible that the season just drops off in the middle of everything and doesn’t resolve any of the stories.  The good news is that we’ve got the beginning of the next season saved downstairs.

But for now, I’m going to go curl back up in bed and get some sleep.

I hope you all had a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Just in case I don’t make it back in this evening, I hope you all had a really fantastic Thanksgiving, filled with lots of smiles and good times and good food.  I’ll talk more about my day on a day when I’m not actually in the middle of it.  :)

I’d put a picture or a video up, but I’m kind of in a hurry and I can’t find anything fast enough.

Take care!  Have a great night!  And I’ll be back again tomorrow.

It’s the day before Thanksgiving. Is your turkey thawed?

Not really sure where to go with this post today.  I’m feeling bummed because I’m down here in the South when my whole family is starting to gather up in Wisconsin.  So there’s this whole displacement feeling thing happening and it’s a little disconcerting.

Um . . . work was fine.  I got to leave early, after I wrapped up my projects for the week.  I’m pretty sure I was the last person in my department to leave, but my projects took me a while.  They’re getting more complicated.

Just got back from the grocery, hitting the pharmacy for pills for Restless Leg Syndrome.  I mention because I was very excited to have $0 copay for my meds because of my fantastic new insurance.  It’s a wonderful change to the $50 or so I’ve been paying for my birth control meds.  I’m not sure if those will have the same copay (nothing!), but I’m looking forward to finding out.

The RLS thing is new.  Well, the twitching and uncomfortableness and all the leg stuff isn’t new.  That’s been a couple years in the making.  This is the first time I’m trying medication to actually help with it.  It’s a weird thing because there’s no easy symptoms to say whether or not it’s actually RLS.  Which is part of why I haven’t done meds before.  But it’s been to the point and then some where I just can’t handle it anymore.  So I’m trying the medicated route.

Justin and I started on season 2 of Heroes the other night.  We’ve finished all the SG:1 that we’ve got in the house (I might be able to get those to the post office on Friday) so we’re moving on to something else.  We’ve been recording season 3 on the box downstairs, but we can’t watch any of that until we get through season 2.  I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed this show.  I can’t predict it!  So many other things I can predit while watching them.  It’s a little irritating, actually.  I love a show that keeps me contantly on my toes!

Tomorrow Justin and I are cooking a whole heap of food that’s going to keep us eating leftovers for the next week and a half.  We like cooking.  We like so many of the options of the traditional Thanksgiving meals.  So we’re taking advantage of those and cooking up a storm.  I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.

But now, I’m going to log off and go get some dinner.  We’re going to curl up and watch a little TV.  And I’m going to get some sleep.  It’s been a long week and I’m very much looking forward to the long weekend.  Tomorrow is cooking and cleaning up house and relaxing a lot.  I have a list of projects that I’d really like to get done over the rest of the weekend, but tonight is all about the lounging.

I hope you all traveled safely!  If you’re traveling tomorrow, keep safe.  Have a fantastic time with who ever you’re spending the holiday with.

And to my family:  I LOVE YOU ALL!!  I miss you tons and I wish we could have made it.  :(   Take pictures of the kids for me and somebody give me a call sometime tomorrow, please?  I’ll make sure my phone is plugged in and somewhere I can hear it.  (Just don’t call too early ’cause I’m *sleepin’*!)  I love you, guys!!!
