Well, that could have gone better….

I never made it in to work today.

I had planned to stay home this morning.  At the very best, I figured I would be a few hours late.  That was if I woke up and Justin was feeling absolutely wonderful and back to not being sick.  I really didn’t think this would be the case, but if it was, I would just go to work after that point.

The other option, the one I planned on (and cleared with my boss), was that I would drive Justin to his doctor’s appointment. We’d get in, chat with his doctor about what was going on, get some prescriptions renewed, and then head back to Bluffton.  This is what happened.  And it took forever.  We waited for the doctor for over an hour.  And it takes almost an hour to get to the doctor (located in Savannah) from our house.  And then we had to drive all the way back again.  So it was like 1:00-1:30 by the time we got back home.

At this time, I could have gone to work, but I was hoping that we could get Justin’s license transferred over to South Carolina.  So, after a bite to eat and some time to let him rest, we started trying to find everything we would need for that process.  We hunted for a long time before giving up on actually locating the title to his car.  By that time, it wasn’t worth me driving into work.  So we drove to the grocery store to fill his prescriptions, waited around while they completed that, and then came back home.

I went for a jog because I’m really trying to get serious about that.  Also because exercise and fresh air and sunshine have this amazing ability to make my emotions settle down and work out my frustration a little bit.  And I needed that.

I’ve had better days.

The good news is that with these prescriptions, Justin should be feeling better in a few days.  So maybe, if the weather is nice this weekend, we’ll be able to go on our date.  The new Bond movie opens on Friday, so even if the weather isn’t nice, we’ll still have a fun date option.  Also, even if I don’t get paid at all for today (but I think I will because I think I have paid personal time that I can use, plus I’ll be working longer the next couple days and working Friday afternoon to make up time), I should still get a better paycheck than I have for the last two years ever.

Tomorrow isn’t going to be a fun day.  I was already behind on projects and now I’m really behind.  I’ll be working late to try to get a couple things done before deadlines.

It feels much later than 6:30. It’s so dark outside and I’m so tired.  I don’t know what we’re going to do with our evening and I don’t know what we’re going to do for dinner.  I just want to curl up and sleep.
