28 things to do before I’m 29
(List created on October 15, 2008)- Pay off the Target card. (May 11, 2009)
- And the Bank of America credit card.
- Be hired direct at my company. (November 3, 2008)
- Lose 30 pounds (weigh in at 185).
- Finish unpacking the house. (Pretty much done over Christmas.)
- Change the template on my webpage. (January 27, 2009)
- Be able to run 3 miles all at once. (March 21, 2009)
- Have at least $1000 in savings. (February 13, 2009)
- Fix the brakes on Justin’s car. (July 25, 2009. The brakes are rusted through and would cost more to repair than the worth of the car. This is no longer a goal.)
- Start my Professional Organizing business.
- Go to the optometrists for the first time in a year and a half. (November 29, 2008)
- Go to the dentists for the first time in . . . three years. (December 11, 2008)
- Convince Justin to go to the dentist as well. (December 11, 2008)
- Find a good internist in the Bluffton Pooler area. (December 3, 2008)
- Get a massage. (February 27, 2009)
- Find a church where Justin and I are both comfortable. (Live Oak Community Church, members as of February 1, 2009)
- Make friends with someone local.
- Repot the plants.
- Make a landscaping plan for the yard.
- Get new pictures in the frames at my work desk. (February 6, 2009)
- Have a plan established with Justin to get his degree.
- Be in the habit of planning weekly menus for our evening meals.
- Start posting again to Wake Up the Muse.
- Have at least 10 concurrent pages of new creative writing saved with the intent of writing more.
- Finally buy a subscription to Real Simple magazine instead of picking one up every month at the store. (Christmas gift from Nathan.)
- Have my sights on competitions to keep me motivated—a writing contest and road-race, specifically. (Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition, Shamrock Run)
- Convince our landlady that we can be trusted to not wreck the house, so when we call with problems she doesn’t think we’re doing it on purpose.
- Write up a list of 29 things to accomplish before I’m 30. (January 12, 2008. Review by my birthday.)
