Some people are just very short sighted and narrow minded and only see their own job and can't see the big picture that the main goal is to produce safe airplanes for a trusting public. I think you will do both sides a lot of good as long as you keep your emotions in check and try to understand it from both sides. Problems like that often have a long history and people on both sides just pick up on the attitudes that are there when they arrive. But one person who is willing to work gently on both sides of the fence can make a tremendous difference. In time....
